This varies from person to person. By waxing the hair will grow back slower, softer and sparser than shaving. However in order to maintain the smooth feel it is recommended that waxing is done every 4 to 5 weeks. For the best long term results you will need between 3 and 4 treatments each spaced ideally 4 weeks apart. You may see a noticeable increase in hair re-growth after your 3rd treatment – this is a good sign as it shows the hair is getting into a regular growth pattern and each of your hairs is now growing at the same time and pace. As a result of your hair re-growth patterns becoming aligned over time, the result of each waxing treatment is a smoother finish and a longer lasting smoothness to the skin. Oh so important in those intimate areas. If it is your first ever wax or you have been shaving before, you may notice hairs appearing sooner than you anticipated. This is because hairs grow at different speeds and some hair may not have quite broken through the skin at the time of your waxing treatment. After the 4th regular waxing treatment we can then reassess the situation and discuss the ideal treatment plan to maintain the best results. Please try not to shave, tweeze or use depilatory products between your waxing appointments as this can result in the treatment not being as successful as I or indeed you would like.
You can have every area of you body waxed apart from the scalp and eyelashes.
If you suffer from contagious skin conditions, are sunburnt or have broken skin. These areas cannot be waxed. Waxing is not recommended for those suffering from diabetes, epilepsy or hemophilia. If you are treating your skin with steroid creams, Retin-A, Differin or other retinoid acne products within the last 3 months. Clients taking Roaccutane must wait the minimum of 6 months after completing the course of medication before embarking on any waxing treatments. NB It is the client’s responsibility to discuss any concerns, conditions or medications that may result in a contra indication for waxing.
I will! – I am, shall we say a lady of more mature years…..how I hate the M word….putting it another way I shall never see 40 again and if someone were to be particularly cruel…they would say I will never see 45 again…but quite frankly that is just plain rude!… I digress… I have undertaken the best possible training, I use the highest quality products and I have a sense of humour….What more could you possible want?
If it is your first visit to Waxed Off, we will have a brief chat and you will be required to fill in a consultation form. I will answer any questions you may have and explain what I am about to do. I will then require you to undress in preparation for the waxing. If you are having an intimate wax you will need to be naked from the waist down. I can assure you I will endeavour to put you at your ease and in minutes you will forget about any embarrassment you might have felt. And let’s face it the first time is always the worst! I will then cleanse the area to be waxed, apply a small amount of oil to create a lipid barrier between the skin and wax. Then having applied the wax I will remove it quickly with as little discomfort as I can possibly manage. I will then apply oil, refreshing gel or soothing balm depending on the area…then Bob’s your uncle and Fanny’s your aunt….all done!
If I said no – I would be telling lies, however pain is subjective. What is painful to one it is mild discomfort to another. My policy is to remove the hair as quickly and painlessly as possible – it may sting for a moment but the sensation will quickly subside and I assure you the results are worth it. Over time with regular waxing the discomfort lessens as the hair grows back finer and sparser.
Yes you can. You may feel a little more sensitive than usual, some ladies take a pain killer 40 minutes or so before their appointment.
Yes you can. I will endeavour to make you as comfortable as possible whilst on my waxing couch. Indeed intimate waxing is very popular in the run up to the due date.
